Hyperloop Desk Toy

This fully 3D-printed toy for your desk is based on the real thing! The Hyperloop is a common carnival ride enjoyed by fairgoers everywhere, and I decided to make my own toy version in SolidWorks. The main arm can be rotated by hand and its gear assembly transfers some of this rotational motion to the carriages in order for them to spin at a 90° angle to the arm. Better yet, the gear system is so smooth that gravity alone can drive the whole thing.

This project allowed me to exercise my CAD skills while gaining practical experience in tolerancing for 3D prints.
